IT Engineer
Full-time, PermanentSaffron Walden CB10 2NL (Hybrid)£30,000 – £32,000 per year
We're looking for a hands-on IT Engineer to join our team, delivering both office-based support and on-site client work. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in IT support who is looking to develop further into project and migration work.
You'll work across Microsoft 365 environments and UniFi-based networks, supporting SMEs with day-to-day IT, troubleshooting, and assisting with client onboarding and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1st, 2nd and occasional 3rd line support
Manage and support Microsoft 365 tenants
Assist with UniFi network deployments and troubleshooting
Attend client sites for installations and support
Monitor systems and respond to alerts
Assist with onboarding new clients including migrations (M365, Intune, devices, networks)
Maintain documentation and ticket updates
Work with senior engineers on escalations and projects
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience with Microsoft 365
Experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Entra ID
User and licence management experience
Windows desktop support experience
Strong troubleshooting skills
Experience in a client-facing role
Full UK driving licence
Certifications
Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Associate (MS-102) — or working towards / equivalent experience

Desirable Skills
Exposure to Ubiquiti UniFi
Basic networking knowledge (VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
Site-to-site VPN exposure
Experience with backup or monitoring tools
Ideal Candidate
Has supported or assisted with Microsoft 365 migrations
Exposure to cutover and staged migrations
Basic tenant-to-tenant migration experience
Experience or interest in Intune device enrolment
Understanding of DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
Comfortable speaking with clients (with senior support when needed)
Curious and keen to understand why things are done
